Popular producer C. Kalyan, who produced several films, including Chandamama and Parama Veera Chakra, was detained by the sleuths of Crime Investigation Department at Chennai on Wednesday, as part of the investigation into his alleged financial dealings with Bhanu, the prime suspect in the murder of faction leader Maddelachervu Suri.
Shalimaar Video Company also lodged a complaint against C. Kalyan for cheating their company relating to the video rights of the films Khaleja and Komaram Puli. Two days ago, Kalyan approached the court through his lawyer to seek anticipatory bail which was denied. C. Kalyan will be brought to Hyderabad on Thursday, sources said.
Already, the CID officials have arrested film producer Singanamala Ramesh Babu in connection with three cheating cases while investigating into the transactions of Bhanu Kiran, who was wanted in the murder case of factionist Maddelacheruvu Suryanarayana Reddy alias Suri.
