Sony DRX-S90U Slim Portable DVD Burner

sony Optiarc introduces its slim DRX-S90U, its first dual USB bus powered portable DVD burner. The drive comes with built-in dual USB cables with integrated cable duct for easy storage. It writes DVD+/-R at 8x, DVD+RW at 8x, DVD-RW at 6x, DVD+/-R DL at 6x, DVD-RAM at 5x, and CD-R/RW at 24x.The tray-loading Sony DRX-S90U has 2MB buffer memory and features buffer under-run protection. Nero 10 CD/DVD
burning software are included with the drive. It will be available for $70.

Mass hero Ravi Teja and sensational director Puri Jagannath are teaming up once again.The buzz is that the successful combo, who gave a couple of sensational hits in the past, is all set to make a sequel to Idiot (2002), one of the biggest hits in the early part of Puri Jagannath's career.According to a source, the sequel has been titled Idiot 2. More details will be out soon. If everything goes well, the film will go on sets after the completion of Puri's The Business Man.

Tamannaah in Maryada Ramanna Hindi remake?

Fair Tamannaah is likely to the heroine in Ajay Devgn's proposed Hindi remake of the Telugu hit Maryada Ramanna, directed by S.S. Rajamouli.This yet-to-be-titled remake will be directed by Ashwani Dhir, who directed Ajay Devgn’s Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge. The film is likely to go on the floors in October 2011.Notably, after Ileana, Kajal Aggarwal, Charmi and Tapasee, Tamannaah could be the fifth South Indian actress to migrate to Bollywood in a matter of one year.Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn is gearing up for the release of Singham, the Hindi remake of super hit Surya-Anushka starrer Singam. The film is slated for July 22 release.

Asin in Puri Jagannath's next Film?

It is confirmed that director Puri Jagannath offered Asin the heroine's role in his second Bollywood film, remake of his Telugu hit Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammayi (2003).
A source revealed that the film maker and Asin have already spoken about the project and Asin has shown interest to be part of the film. Though she is yet to sign the dotted line, she is very excited about teaming up once again with her mentor Puri Jagannath."She shares a great bond with the film maker and therefore, she'll surely be interested to star in the film," the source said. Notably, Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammayi starred Asin and was her debut Telugu film.

After playing in six back-to-back Malayalam films, popular South Indian actress-singer Mamta Mohandas, who recently won the Filmfare Award (best actress) for Kadha Thudarunnu, has signed a Tamil film Thadaiyara Thaakka, starring young Arun Vijay in the lead.According to sources, the film has two female leads: Mamta and Rakul Preet Singh. Bollywood actress Prachi Desai was earlier roped in for the female lead in this film, but recently opted out of Thadaiyara Thaakka for some reason.

Riteish-Genelia to marry next year?

Popular actor couple Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia, who never openly admitted their romance and have maintained that they are 'good friends', would reportedly marry next year!
Though no official announcements have been made, the two made it quite apparent about their relationship at a recent awards function in Toronto. Riteish and Genelia walked hand in hand on the red carpet of the awards ceremony. Young superstar Ram Charan Teja's proposed film under the direction of ace V.V. Vinayak will start rolling from September. The formal pooja ceremony will be held in August.

Meera Chopra booked for murder

The police have filed a murder case again model-actress Meera Chopra, cousin of Priyanka Chopra, in connection with the death of a 28-year-old married woman Ruchi Bhuttan in Delhi on Tuesday. The deceased was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her posh DLF City house.While the victim Ruchi’s in-laws claimed it was suicide, her relatives suspected foul play and blamed her husband Sumit Bhuttan. Apparently, Sumit has an extramarital relationship with Meera Chopra and this illegal relationship had disturbed Ruchi.Ruchi’s relatives claim that she was murdered on account of harassment at the hands of her husband. Ruchi’s diary shows that Sumit used to humiliate her for her looks and compared her with actress Meera Chopra. Sumit was booked on Thursday. As of now, the police is yet to ascertain Meera’s involvement in the murder/ suicide mystery.

Boyapati to direct Mahesh Babu

Prince Mahesh Babu, who is currently busy with the shooting of his much-awaited Dhookudu, has signed a film under the direction of Boyapati Srinu.
Reportedly, the shooting of this film produced by a well known producer will commence after Boyapati Srinu completes his ongoing project tentatively titled Dammu, starring Jr. NTR. More details will be announced soon.
Meanwhile, after the completion of Dhookudu, Mahesh Babu is likely to join the sets of The Business Man, directed by Puri Jagannath.

Siddharth-Sruthi romancing in Kerala

The new schedule of O My Friend, starring Siddharth and Shruthi Haasan in the lead, will commence in Kerala on July 18. The film has completed more than 50% of shooting.
Venu Sriram is making his debut as director with O My Friend, produced by Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations.
Well known Malayalam music director Rahulraj is composing the music. Hansika is the second heroine. According to sources, O My Friend is the real life story of the director’s student days.

Femina Miss India 2011 finalist Rakul Preet Singh was under consideration as the heroine of director Deva Katta's next Naga Chaitanya starrer Autonagar Surya, but according to sources, Rakul Preet Singh was replaced by Samantha.
If it happens, this is the second time Samantha is pairing up with Naga Chaitanya. Earlier, they teamed up in Ye Maya Chesave.Set in the backdrop of Vijayawada rowdyism, Autonagar Surya will commence shooting in October. Autonagar Surya is touted to be an action drama cum love story. K. Achireddy of Max India is the producer. Music is by Anup Rubens. The film has Ashish Vidyarthi, Jayaprakash Reddy and Jeeva in other roles.

Veera completes 50 days

Mass Hero Raja Ravi Teja’s latest mass action entertainer Veera, directed by Ramesh Varma and produced by Ganesh Indukuri under the banner Sanvi Productions banner, has completed 50 days in 60 centres.
"Veera has completed 50 days in 60 centres on July 8 and is still running with housefull collections. Ravi Teja’s performance in two different shades, Kajal-Tapasee duo's glamour, director Ramesh Varma’s style, Thaman’s music, and Chota K Naidu’s photography have contributed to the success of the film. Gemini bags 100% Love Hindi remake rights

Gemini Film Circuit has reportedly bagged the Hindi remake rights of the Naga Chaitanya-Tamannaah super hit 100 % Love, directed by Sukumar and produced by Bunny Vasu under the banner of Geetha Arts.
It is heard that the production house acquired the remake rights for Rs. 95 lakhs. The details about the Hindi version are awaited and the official announcement about the cast and crew is expected to take place soon.
100% Love recently completed 50 days run in 65 screens. One of the biggest hits in 2011 so far, the film was released on April 22. Made with a medium budget of Rs. 11 crores, 100% Love collected about Rs. 11.26 crores in the first week itself

Gabbar Singh starts on July 25

Power Star Pawan Kalyan, who is presently busy with Kaali under the direction of Vishnuvardhan, will commence the shooting of his next film Gabbar Singh on July 25. Gabbar Singh is the remake of Bollywood’s block buster hit Dabangg, starring Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha.
The posters of the remake, in which the power star plays an arrogant and corrupt cop, were revealed recently. The film is directed by Harish Shankar of Mirapakaya fame and produced by actor turned producer Ganesh under the banner of Parameswara Arts.

Lawrence to direct Salman Khan

Actor-choreographer-director Lawrence Raghavendra is packing his bags to enter Bollywood! He will remake his forthcoming Tamil film Kanchana in Hindi with Salman Khan playing the lead role.
Confirming the news, Lawrence said: "I have plans to direct Salman in the Hindi remake of Kanchana. I'm in talks with the actor and I should be making the announcement well within two weeks."
Kanchana, which is all set to hit screens by July 14, has Lakshmi Rai and Sarathkumar in important roles. Sarath plays a transgender in Kanchana, a sequel to Lawrence's Muni. It is produced by Sri Thenandal Films.

Ramya’s sizzling performance at Filmfare awards

The 58th annual Idea Cellular Filmfare awards held in Hyderabad's International Convention Center (HICC) was marked by glitz and glitterati as the much adored stars from the South Indian film fraternity turned out in their glamorous best in the stage shows.
Sandalwood Queen Ramya set the stage on fire with her sensational performance on ‘Yello’ in Kannada and ‘Oh Esa’ in Tamil. Kannada star Yesh was not far behind in giving his best stage show performance.
These were certainly the highlights of the big event held on Saturday evening. Audiences were demanding an encore from Ramya, who won the hearts of Kannada audiences with her stunning dance performance in the hit song ‘Oorigellaa Padmavathy’ from Johny Mera Naam.

Parvathi Melton back in Tollywood

Tall beauty Parvathi Melton, who disappeared from Telugu Cinema after appearing in some hits including Vennela, Jalsa, Madu Masam and Allare Allari, is back in Tollywood. She would be the heroine in a film starring leading director Puri Jagannath’s brother Sairam Shankar.This untitled socio-fantasy will be directed by Y. Jitendar and produced by G. Vijaykumar Goud, who earlier produced Punnaminagu. Real Star Srihari will play a meaty role in this film, which will start rolling in September in USA. More details are awaited.

Nayantara presents gold ring to make up man

Nayantara seems to be quitting films! She recently completed shooting for her Telugu film Sri Rama Rajyam, starring Balakrishna, and on the last day of the shoot, she presented 150 watches to her unit members. Nayantara also presented a gold ring to her make up man. Rumours suggest that she is quitting acting and that is the reason she presented the gifts to her unit members.
Talking about this film in which she plays Sita, Nayantara said she considers Sri Rama Rajyam as a blessing. "It will always remain as a film close to my heart. The last day of shoot was indeed very emotional for me, as my director Bapu sir is a living legend and I consider working under him a great experience. All the unit members were like one big family and there were a lot of positive vibes while filming," she said.
Sri Rama Rajyam is a mythological directed by Bapu and produced by Yalamanchali Sai Babu under the banner of Sri Saibaba Movies. The makers are planning to release the audio in the second half of July and the film in August.

Anushka's Rampachodavaram

Reigning actress Anushka's new heroine centric film, directed by Chaitanya Dantuluri (maker of critically acclaimed Baanam) and produced by Konda Krishnamraju under the banner of Sri Aditya Productions, has been titled RampachodavaramSources said this film is being made in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam simultaneously with high technical values and top technicians.Set in the backdrop of 1930, Rampachodavaram revolves around a brave woman who leads a group to fight against British rule in India. Major portions of the film will be shot in Coorg, Karnataka. J.K. Bharavi is behind the story. Music is by Mani Sharma, editing by Marthand K. Venkatesh and cinematography by Anil Bhandari.

Ramya Krishna as Telangana professor

After Jagapathi Babu's Jai Bolo Telangana, yet another film based on the Telangana movement is being churned out in Tollywood. Titled Kolimi, this film stars Sivaji and is directed by Nagendra.
While the shooting of this film is all set to commence, we hear that actress Ramya Krishna will appear as a Telangana professor in this flick. Reportedly, yesteryear super heroine Vijayashanti too has agreed to play a key role.
Based on the struggle for a separate Telangana, Kolimi was formally launched at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad recently. The film is jointly produced by Lavanya Reddy and Uma Parvathi under the banner of Charitra Creations. Dialogues are by Niyoga and cinematography by Muzeer Mallik.

Naga Chaitanya’s Dhada almost complete

Naga Chaitanya’s upcoming Dhada, directed by debutant Ajay Bhuyan, is almost complete.
Producer Chandan Reddy of Kamakshi Movies said that only six days of work are remaining and the post production, including the promo, will commence in a week. The audio will be released in a few weeks and the film is set to release in August.Recently, an item song was canned on Naga Chaitanya and Aruna Shields in a specially erected set at Annapoorna Studios in Hyderabad. Composed by Devi Sri Prasad, the song was choreographed by Prem Rakshit.

Jr. NTR fans killed in mishap

Prasad and Venkanna, two Jr. NTR fans who were on their way home in Huzurnagar in Nalgonda district after meeting their favouriute star, were killed in a mishap at Abdullapurmet on Sunday night.
The youths and their nine friends had come to Hyderabad to meet Jr. NTR. They suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot when a lorry hit them from behind. The two were standing near their jeep, while their friends went to attend nature's call on the way home.
On hearing the tragic news, Jr. NTR expressed his deep shock and telephoned to the family members of the victims.

Prabhu Deva-Ramlath divorce: Coming soon?

And finally, D day is in sight for Prabhu Deva! His wish to marry Nayantara may soon come true! Prabhu Deva and his wife Latha aka Ramlath filed a petition seeking mutual divorce before a Family Court. On July 2, the family court in Chennai sanctioned their divorce and since Prabhu has to go abroad for the shoot of his upcoming film, the court is likely to grant the divorce on Thursday.
Prabhu Deva and Ramlath filed a petition submitting that all efforts taken by mediators and elders in their families failed to find a solution and they agreed for divorce by mutual consent. Ramlath also withdrew her earlier petitions pending before the court. Prabhu Deva and Ramlath were married on September 8, 1995 and had three sons. One of their sons passed away due to cancer.According to a source, Prabhu has already started giving the alimony he promised to his wife Ramlat and as a first step, he recently paid her Rs. 5 lakhs. A farmhouse and a 22-cent property in ECR have also been transferred to Ramlath and their two sons Rishi and Aditya. Besides a property in Hyderabad, a flat in Anna Nagar will also be transferred to Ramlath's name.

Tapasee as Tanu

South India's glam doll Tapasee has signed to play Tanu, a smart, intelligent and rebellious girl who is against arranged marriage, in the Telugu remake of Bollywood hit Tanu Weds Manu. The original rolewas played by Kangna Ranaut.
Comedian-turned-hero Sunil is the hero in this remake to be directed by Devi Prasad under the banner of Megasuper Good Movies. Sameer Reddy handles the camera. The movie will go on sets shortly.
Tanu Weds Manu revolves around Manu (Madhavan), a serious NRI doctor in London, who comes looking for a bride in India and falls for a sozzled small town girl Tanu (Kangna), who lives with her extended family in Kanpur. But there's a hitch. Tanu loves a goonda from Lucknow and threatens Manu with dire consequences if he doesn't refuse to marry her. What happens next forms the rest of the film.

Sources close to megastar-turned-politician Chiranjeevi reveal that the actor-politician is planning to launch a full-fledged news channel in six months. Notably, he has been toying with the idea of a news channel for some time, but kept it on hold due to a recession in the market.
One of the major stakeholders in Maa TV, Chiranjeevi is said to have already initiated steps to launch his news channel. It is learnt that the stakeholders of Chiranjeevi's news channel include the PR party's Anakapalle MLA Ghanta Srinivasa Rao.

Selva-Geethanjali marriage celebrated

If Karthi's wedding took place with much fanfare and tight security, ace director Selvaraghavan was nowhere behind. He married 23-year-old Geethanjali, daughter of former advocate General of Tamil Nadu P.S. Raman, at a luxury hotel in Chennai today.
Geethanjali is currently assisting Selva in Irandam Ulagam with Dhanush and Richa in the lead roles. Selva had married actress Sonia Agarwal at a high profile ceremony on 15 December, 2006. After two years, they separated and later got divorced. Interesting, this is the first time that two prominent film personalities in Kollywood got married on the same day.
